Notation In the Melo-Rhythm Archetypes we used note-values with bar-lines of different levels. In the Melo-Harmony Archetypes we used the chord patterns themselves. In the contour Archetypes of Melo-Lines we will use scale degrees, mostly in the Diatonic Major Mode.
Ah, vous dirai-je, maman
Two gold medals Twinkle, Twinkle seems to be first here again, although its position might not be as solid as in the Melo-Rhythm Archetypes. With repeated notes counting as a single longer note, we have 1 5 6 5 4 3 2 1.
Derivatives Very little change transforms this into a descending scale, 1 7 6 5 4 3 2 1 which we find in Marie Calumet, Joy To The World, and the Nutcracker Pas-de-deux.
Au clair de la lune
Two silver medals This second Archetype consists in starting on degree 1, up to 3, and back down to 1, twice, which we find in Au clair de la lune as 1 2 3 2 1 3 2 1, with a 2 missing. In Fais dodo, with 3 2 1 2 3 2 1, the first quarter is missing, as it is in Go Tell Aunt Rhody, with an extra 4.
Top Secret
Legal Restriction Possible court litigation prevents us from divulging a contour archetype of thirds, 4 2 3 1 2 7 1, possibly in the form 2 4 3 1 2 7 1.
